The Californian wine makers E&J Gallo think they have spotted a gap in the market and have made a wine range aimed at men. Wine has always had more of an association with the female client but Gallo think that with strong branding they can cut a niche. The launch of the new range comes after news that they will be cutting back on their volumes of wine production in 2010 by taking part in less discount offers by retailers. In an ideal world we would all have lovely big wine cellars with heat regulators and air circulation systems. This would give the wines the best change of aging perfectly and we wouldn’t have to worry about them at all. Australia has long been considered a big player in the global wine industry and this has to a large extent been down to its ideal grape growing conditions. However, Fiji and New Zealand have also come onto the scene in recent years and has increased their market share largely as a result of their flexible wine producing policies.

To complement a good dinner you often need fantastic wine to go with it. When having a smart slap up meal the waiter would ask you what you would like to drink to which you would answer, A bottle of your finest Nashik region sauvignon blanc wine or an original Maharastran Shiraz. Like any good meal there are some essentials that you need, for example, crystal glasses, an ice bucket to keep the wine cold (if it’s white) and ideally someone to pour it for you. Britain now imports more wine than any other country on the planet. We imported a grand total of 1.6 billion bottles in 2007, equating to thirty five standard bottles for every adult in the country which is absolutely staggering figure. People have used wine in medicine ever since it was first invented. Documents have been found over the years that suggest people once thought wine could cure stomach ulcers, stop cancer spreading and even reverse the effects of aging.Sadly, its more often the case that wine (and alcohol in general) contributes more to the cause of health problems than the cure. Amazingingly more than 2500 picked up injuries last year in the U.S just by using a bottle opener.That said, every now again wine surprises everyone by showing some amazing qualities, which is exactly what has recently happened at the University of Minnesota, where a wine-massage study has shown the healing effects of both the red and white varieties.
